Tickets for these events are now available online from the Ticket Shop.

Sustainability, AI and other challenges

Basi, the German Federal Association for Occupational Safety and Health, will present 40 sessions with more than 300 speakers. In addition, there will be an extensive poster exhibition in conjunction with WearRAcon. One of the many well-known keynote speakers is Dr Isabella Helmreich, Scientific Director of the Resilience & Society Department at the Leibniz Institute for Resilience Research in Mainz. Her topic ‘Resilience – a universal answer in Times of Crisis?’ is sure to get people talking.
One of the focus areas at the 38th A+A Congress is sustainable strategies for safety and health at work. ‘The challenges posed by climate change in the workplace, digitalisation, and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in occupational safety and health, as well as mobile work and designing workplaces for mobile work are other important issues’, said Basi Managing Director Dr Christian Felten. As such, there will be special events revolving around safe and human-centric AI in the world of work, as well as using AI as a tool for occupational safety and health. In addition, the experts at the congress will be addressing some of the main topics of the GDA (Joint German Occupational Safety and Health Strategy) such as the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders and mental stress. The Vision Zero Days will look at how accidents and illnesses can be prevented in the occupational environment as a whole. ‘We will also hear about practical examples from companies about how to do this’, said Dr Felten.

Real-world examples

Successful examples of applying workplace safety will be presented and discussed at a workshop organised by the FOM University of Applied Sciences for Economics and Management in conjunction with the Austrian General Accident Insurance Institution (AUVA). In the ‘Digital Factory’ event, specialists from the Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (IFA) of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) will explain how working conditions can be designed ergonomically and economically at an early stage with the help of software systems. And the Federal Ministry of Labour will be holding its own session on how risk assessments can systematically ensure good work design in terms of managing mental stress.

Events for specific target groups

Other congress events will look at how employees can be protected from exposure to chemical and physical agents. The Congress will also be holding special events for specific sectors and target groups such as safety representatives and networks – for example, the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA). ‘Participants will also be eligible to receive continuing education credits’, explained Basi Managing Director Dr Felten.

Meeting Point at the A+A Trade Fair

Many of Basi’s members will also be presenting their services at the A+A Trade Fair in Hall 9 at the Safety and Health Meeting Point and contributing to the stage programme at the A+A Trend Forum. A meeting point for all those interested in occupational safety and health is available at the Basi stand in Hall 5.
