38th A+A Congress 2023: Sustainable occupational safety and health to be one of the core topics
The 38th International A+A Congress 2023 is taking form: sustainable strategies for safety and health at work will be one of the core themes of the congress, which takes place alongside the A+A Trade Fair from 24 to 27 October 2023 in Düsseldorf. Basi, the German Federal Association for Occupational Safety and Health, conducted a survey of experts on this topic. “Sustainable businesses not only have environmentally friendly production processes, but also social sustainability and good working conditions. Safety and health at work is essential for this”, stated Federal Minister of Labour Hubertus Heil when talking about the topics of the 38th International A+A Congress.
“Other important issues include the challenges that climate change is creating in the workplace; digitalisation and artificial intelligence; mobile work; and preventing musculoskeletal disorders and mental stress. We’re very pleased to be able to offer our guests around 30 sessions. Attendees are also warmly invited to attend our Vision Zero Days, which will focus on how accidents and illnesses in the work environment can be prevented entirely”, said Basi Managing Director Dr Christian Felten.
There’s even more on offer at the 38th International A+A Congress. In the ‘Safety II’ Workshop, examples of occupational safety and health being successfully applied in practice will be presented and discussed. How working conditions can be designed ergonomically and economically from the onset with the help of software systems will be the topic of an event called the ‘Digital Factory’ organised by the Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (IFA). The German Federal Ministry of Labour will be holding its own session on how risk assessments can consistently ensure good work design where psychological stress is an issue.
There will also be events on preventing biological, chemical, and physical effects; on workplace safety; and on workplace prevention. The congress programme will be further complemented by interesting events for special target groups, sectors and networks. “Participants attending our world-class congress will also be eligible to receive credits towards their continuing education”, announced Basi Managing Director Dr Felten.
Tickets for the congress and the accompanying A+A Trade Fair (24 to 27 October 2023) go on sale at the end of May 2023.
A preliminary overview of the congress programme will be available on the Basi website from the end of May 2023.
