The global economy is characterized by its organization through extremely complex and increasingly fragmented supply chains, which have long spanned the entire globe and which cover many different intermediate levels. All starts with the agricultural production process or extraction of raw material and finally ends up with selling to the customer. It is well known that favourable sales prices may be achieved at the expense of inadequate working conditions for workers along the supply chain, with the result of high occupational accident and disease rates.
Being aware of this situation, the International ISSA Sections on Prevention in the Chemical Industry, Construction, Information, Mining and Trade collaborate closely and jointly invite to the symposium “Vision Zero for Sustainability along Global Supply Chains – beyond Due Diligence Obligations – GSC Berlin 2024“ (Berlin / Germany – 22–23 October 2024)
Nadja Schilling´s contribution "On the Move: Safety and Health in Global Transportation Chains" will focus on the identification of hazards and areas for action along the transportation chain as a basis for an effective cross modal prevention culture.
The program of the event (22-23 October 2024 in Berlin, Germany) is online and registration is open.
