Future of Work
Work 4.0: towards company operations of the future

Tuesday, 17.10.2017
09:30 – 12:30
1st Floor, Room 1

German-English simultaneously

Organizer: German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS)

Public discussion of „Work 4.0“ and „Industry 4.0“ places the focus upon the digitalization of work and its impact upon the world of work. Numerous events, publications and scientific projects are devoted to how the digital transformation of the world of work can be managed humanely. A key point of reference in this respect is the „Work 4.0“ white paper published in November 2016 by the German Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs at the end of the dialogue under the same heading. The focus of the public discussion is now shifting from the theoretical level to the concrete level of practitioners and users. The key challenge is that of managing the digital transformation in companies and public administrations positively in the interests of the workers. Supplemented by a contribution from Great Britain, the partner country to this year‘s A+A, the event will examine how a cultural transformation can be shaped positively in companies, including with regard to the value judgements of workers. A view of actual practice shows that some companies have already taken steps towards the digital future.
This includes:
– In-company spaces for learning and experimentation in the interests of work innovation, supported in their implementation by the BMAS
– The „Digital world of work“ platform with its collection of practical examples, „Health and participation in world of work 4.0“
In the concluding panel discussion, the relevant stakeholders will be asked to evaluate the topic from their own perspectives, particularly with regard to the aspects of „spaces for learning and experimentation in the interests of work innovation“ and „digitalization, health and inclusion“. The event is intended for skilled and management personnel in the sphere of occupational safety and health, disseminators and representatives of associations and institutions, researchers, and all interested specialist groups.
